ORDER! ORDER!

We have over the last couple of weeks put forward in our postings the very strong allegations that all may not be legal in some of the wards in Barking CLP when it comes to membership.

We have been inundated with emails from members raising just this matter, we even understand that it has been raised as an issue in London because it appears that in certain areas in Barking the growth in membership is bucking the national trend.

We have had our people go through the Labour Party rule book to see how these matters are dealt with in the Rules.

Chapter 2. B. Membership procedures.

A. It is an abuse of party rules for one individual or faction to 'buy' party membership for other
individuals or groups of individuals who would otherwise be unwilling to pay their own subscriptions.

C. It is an abuse of party rules for individuals or factions to recruit members who do not live at
the claimed addresses in an attempt to manipulate local party meetings or the outcome of
party ballots.

Chapter 18 Appendix ii.

A.5 The health and democracy of the party depends on the efforts and genuine participation of individuals who support the aims of the Labour Party, wish to join the party and get involved with our activities. The recruitment of large numbers of 'paper members' who have no wish to participate except at the behest of others in an attempt to manipulate party processes, undermines our internal democracy and is unacceptable to the party as a whole.

Having read through the rules and following a lengthy discussion we are now agreed that a demand must be made, in that a full investigation takes place into the seeming growth of members in certain wards in Barking CLP.

Because there is now so little trust in the officers of Barking CLP by its members, and also unfortunately little trust in officers in London Region, we would request that the investigation be run by 2/3 officers from Dagenham CLP and 2/3 officers from the Labour Group.

We firmly believe that this would be the most democratic way forward, and would encourage officers from Barking CLP to pass over all membership lists and any aid necessary so that these very strong and growing allegations can be dealt with.

  1. About time this was investigated, how come long term members are now overwhelmed with faces and people we dont know.

They only ever turn up for a meeting when their vote is needed, they never turn up to do any work.

And always turn up in people carriers and then off they go until the next time.

Come on get the investigation underway and lets find out the truth.

  3. This blog as I've said before is written by four or five individuals, with a grudge.. Why wasn't there any mentin of checks and balances before now? Why ask Dagenham officers, and Labour Group officers? Why not a totally far off Labour Group? Is it because you all know someone in those aforementioned groups, and with a little of your own shennanigans will hope to be reinstated? Your ideas are only good for yourselves, and not the broader Labour Party.

  5. I think that those posting anons @ 7.40 and 7.44 proves this blogs point, and are exactly why an investigation cannot be left in the hands of anyone involved with North Street and as such this means the officers of Barking CLP who should all go under the microscope anyway.

Anon @7.44 says it all really "I and my associates have no problem whatsoever".

Well you may not mate but the honest members of Barking Party do.

    We will rock you

  6. These peoples are so right to call for an investigation. We know in our place in Abbey that peoples bring in friends and family to meetings to vote.
They come from Birmingham and all over London this is wrong.
It is making very bad troubles for us that have lived here for long time.

  9. This is addressed to anon posting @ 12.47, you really have no sense of SHAME now do you. Are you really so boated in your arrogance that you feel it is within your power to so totally dismiss what party members are saying.

Mustaq Ahmed has made comment on this blog before and we also note that he made comment on the Tribune blog, we have no reason to believe that what he is saying is not true, and more importantly what he is saying is the feelings of a large group of our Muslim members.

Yet you find what he is saying funny and you totally dismiss all that he has said.

This seems to be a long running theme of all that is happening within the North Street mafia, we have learned from many members that when questions have been raised at meetings they have either been scorned and embarrassed or just totally ignored.

In an earlier comment it was asked why no mention of these increasing numbers of alleged new members had ever been raised before, we have now been informed that it has been raised a number of times.

It has even been related to us that the CLP membership secretary informed a meeting that "somebody" was making checks on the membership. Again this was all closed down.

But, let us assure you the demand for an investigation will go forward, and we have now been told that all of the paperwork that is required to hold that investigation has been gathered together.

We could say to you that it is about time you started listening to the 300 or so real party members that there are on the books, many of who are now demanding that investigations into the conduct of a large number of officers both within Barking CLP but also the LGC takes place.
But as with all things when you are questioned all you seem to do is pour scorn and laughter over any point raised that is not what you want to hear.

    SHAME ON YOU ALL
