We have just been informed that the North Street Mafia will be out in force in Thames Ward tomorrow morning Saturday at 10.15am at the junction of Thames Road and Marine Drive.
What has had everyone falling off their chairs laughing is that Laila Butt the CLP secretary is asking that all councillor candidates attend as she wants to take head shots!!!!!!!
Does this mean that she and her cronies are going for the full take over? there could be an awful lot of dead bodies left lying on that corner.
Our best advice to all councillor candidates is to stay well away, you know what they say about women and loaded guns.

Just a little piece of news
As usual this posting is a matter of rumour, allegation, anecdote, observation and historical memory.
This posting concerns Becontree Ward and their last AGM held in March this year.
We understand that at that time going into the AGM Robert Douglas was the Ward Secretary, remember Robert he has now been selected to stand as a Councillor in Becontree Ward.
Well it seems everyone had turned up for the start of the meeting and when it got to the paperwork, where they had to select and vote for positions in the Ward and then positions in Barking CLP Robert Douglas had forgotten the papers. As the meeting was being held not far from Roberts home members asked him to pop home and pick up the papers. We are told that Robert seemed very reluctant to do this, but, he did, when he returned ward members were very "Surprised" to see that all of the positions had already been filled in. Ward members do not believe Robert had the brains to do this and they are convinced that these completed sheets were given out by the North Street mafia.
We have managed to check out with our insider and they confirm that these sheets were done in house and given out to wards that were onside, from what we can gather the only wards where this could not be done was Longbridge and Eastbury and we have already given you some idea what had gone on in Eastbury ward but, we do plan to give you a full account.
Anyway back to Becontree, so Robert Douglas was caught red handed, he was not even smart enough to put up an excuse, luckily one of the ward members had managed to get hold of copies of the forms and Becontree Ward were able to make their own nominations.
But this kind of action must make members of Barking CLP question the honesty of officers in the CLP and certainly the Secretary. How can any ward be sure that the nominations they put forward this year or last year actually got to the AGM?

THAMES WARD Part 4
As usual this posting is a matter of rumour, allegation anecdote, observations and historical memory.
Barry Poulton - where were we? the residents of Thames ward as we have said do not hold back on their views when it comes to Barry, he is seen as a complete waste of time, if any resident on Thames View has a problem they go straight to Fred Barns who they trust to do the job. And on Scrattons they go to Joan Rawlingson, we are told the residents of Scrattons do not even know what Barry Poulton looks like. The 3 tower blocks rely on Fred and Joan. So just what does Barry do then?
We are told that Barry very rarely speaks at Council meetings, and if he does it has nothing at all to do with his ward or issues that his residents have raised, when Barry does speak it is to criticise council officers on their spelling and grammar in their reports, he will also labour the point if a survey that is being presented is 1% out in its calculations. You can imagine how much these actions endear him to officers. We are informed that he claims to have been a teacher of Math at one time, but we have no evidence to prove or disprove this claim.
We have been told that within the Labour Group Barry is in the ultra right wing of the group, which is not unexpected when you consider that he is working for George Shaw, thankfully we are told that this ultra right only consists of about 5/6 people, but, do not forget that this ultra right is supported by the North Street Mafia.
Now lets just have a look at Barry's involvement with the North Street mafia, Barry's one big failing by the way is that he likes to brag and boast, and unfortunately for him he picks the wrong places and people to brag and boast too.
Barry, we are told duly attends at North Street on almost a daily basis with George, we understand from our insider that Barry firmly believes that because he is usually the only Councillor who is there all of the time that he is a person of authority, a big fish in a little pond, whose every word is listened to and taken for gospel. The Labour Group are very aware that Barry reports back to North Street all issues raised at Group meetings, even though he has been warned on a number of occasions.
We have been made aware that in the run up to the selection process North Street were offering training and help in filling in the forms and practice for the interviews, this should have been offered to all who were considering putting themselves forward, but, Barry was the only sitting Councillor to have been advised.
One really major contentious issue that came out during the selection process is that as Thames Ward Secretary Barry wrote the ward reports on the sitting councillors even his own, the question to be answered among many is how come Barry was allowed to do this, and is'nt it strange that Barry is the only sitting councillor in Thames to get through.
Bearing in mind that we understand that all correspondence going out to candidates, and all copies of paperwork etc went through North Street, and was handled by the "volunteers" just like Barry and George who are there practically everyday, it is no wonder then that reports started to come back to Group members that Barry had bragged at a meeting that Val Rush had failed at her appeal, this statement was made at a meeting 5 days before the appeal was heard, and we are told witnesses have signed statements to this effect.
We also understand that Barry was out with M Hodge and the North Street mafia on a Saturday and they were actually telling residents in Thames Ward that Barry was the only decent Councillor on the ward, and that they will be getting 2 new ones as Fred and Joan had been de selected, this was before Joan and Fred had even had their letters telling them they had not got through. We hear that witnesses have made written statements to this.
Barry has even confirmed to Council officers that there is a list, and that Cameron Geddes will be Leader, Evelyn Carpenter Deputy Leader, and Barry will be the Executive Member for the Environment and Sustainability.
This is all part of George Shaw's bid to take back Thames Ward to how it used to be when he and Roy Patient controlled it and the major committees.
We have also heard just recently, the Council are continuing their programme where Executive members go out into wards across the borough with Key officers and speak to residents to find out from them how they feel the council are performing in their area, and any issues or complaints residents may have. This has been running for a year or so now and seems we hear to be quite successful with residents.
There is one due to take place in Thames Ward in the next few weeks, but it appears that Barry has stated that NO Executive Members is to come into his ward. Barry has done this with no consultation with either Joan or Fred. So it certainly looks as though the drive by George Shaw to take Thames back to the old days when it was said that officers and other members needed to have a passport to go onto Thames Ward is gathering a pace.
We have duly considered the comments posted yesterday where some of our readers believed we were a little harsh, and to a certain extent we have tempered our post today.

Barry Poulton - With this one we are not too sure if we will cover all of the issues and may very well have to go on to Part 4.
Its a case of where do we start? Barry is very much a George Shaw stooge, but, we understand there was a falling out between them about a year or so ago, it seems Barry did not do something that George wanted so as usual he got the cold shoulder, terrified that he would loose Georges long term backing he very quickly submitted himself to George and reassured him that he was only on the council as a mouthpiece for George, and he was quickly readmitted to the fold.
It is unfortunate that Barry has very little respect from the residents in Thames ward, and they do not hold back in their complaints against him. They refer to him as the Womble or Mr Litter Picker as we understand he spends a lot of his time at the weekends walking round the estate with a black plastic bag picking up litter.
Another complaint is that he does not hold a surgery, residents are expected to either ring him or knock on his door where he will then stand at the garden gate talking to a resident about their problems so that all can see and those that are walking past can hear.
Barry also has a reputation amongst council officers and members for exageration, it seems that he regularly sends through lists, of black rubbish bags being left behind, fly tipping etc., but where any normal person would be honest and state exactly what they saw ie 2 black bags, or 1 fly tip, with Barry you will find that this figure grows in his mind, so that when the list goes in it may well say something like 220 blacks and 100 fly tipping incidents.
We feel that the man needs glasses or an honest approach to reality.

THAMES WARD Part 2
As is usual this posting is a matter of rumour, allegation, anecdote, observation and historical memory.
Cameron Geddes -
This we believe is a very complex and somewhat disturbed and worrying young man.
If we were to go back to the great battle of 1994 for the vacant parliamentary seat of Barking we start to see the cracks in his character show. After loosing to M Hodge he vowed hatred of her for ever more, and would do anything he could to have nothing what so ever to do with her.
We are reliably informed that during election times he would not campaign for her, put a leaflet out nothing.
So what changed?
As there are in all politics there was a shift within the labour group to the left, the left were far more community minded, they represented what they saw as the voice of the community, not offering, as Cameron had done for many years the paternalistic view that he knew best.
He made some bad choices in his friendships, which in one instance left him totally exposed and feeling the anger of many of his colleagues.
Liam Smith came forward and became the Deputy Leader of the Labour Group, Cameron could we suggest see this coming, knew he was going to be taken out so to speak, and rather than stand and fight the challenge slunk off into the political wilderness.
In 2006 with a new but slightly smaller Labour majority the labour group took a refreshing and bold step forward, under the Leadership of Charles Fairbrass and Dep Leader Liam Smith the battle lines were drawn, Barking & Dagenham council were going to do things in a more modern and open way and would succeed even with 12 BNP councillors.
Cameron we would suggest would never have wanted to make these changes, he was cosy and safe the way things were, but, Cameron is one of these people that does hold long seated grudges and his hatred for Liam Smith must now we suggest outweigh his past hatred of Margaret Hodge.
Camerons time in the political wilderness we understand has not improved his social skills at all, it is said that he much prefers the company of a bottle or 2 and his playstation in his flat in the evenings rather than human company. Some female members even discribe him as creepy.
So lets come up to date, why did M Hodges North Street mafia want to bring Cameron back into the fold, the answer we hear is very simple, the mafia long term plan had been that Darren Rodwell would be the new Leader of Barking & Dagenham Council in 2010 with Evelyn Carpenter as his Deputy, but they found out that Darren cannot read we understand, so they had to go shopping for a credible replacement and zeroed in on Cameron.
Cameron almost bit their hands off at the chance of taking out Liam Smith, which of course he wouldnt have to do on his own.
But questions do remain, when you consider that every candidate that was interviewed to go onto the panel had to demonstrate what campaigning they had been doing, Cameron has done none at all.
Just what has he done since his selection? Or as may just be the case will he be quite happy to take the title, the money and allow George Shaw to run Thames Ward?
Some little while ago when Cameron was criticised on another blog, a firm defence came in that he was one of the "good guys". Does that person still believe that?
We are just of the opinion that any young man who has never held down a proper job, who spends his evenings alone in his flat with his booze and his playstation, who in the past has had a nasty habit of sending female members inappropriate christmas presents, especially to married female members of fish net stockings with bottles of vodka poked into them.

QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED BY JOHN DAVIS
Well it seems pretty obvious to us that Darren Rodwell and Dominic Twomey have gone to ground, is it that they are too ashamed to answer us? Is it that no one at London Region is answering their calls? Are they now realising that they are on their own on the edge of a disaster that they and the rest of their merry band of men and women at North Street have brought about?
You can imagine it if you will, a very old Carry on film comes to mind, where they are all standing in line and volunteers are requested everyone else has the brains to step back leaving the 2 fall guys standing on their own............
Well we will make sure Mr Rodwell and Mr Twomey that you are not left standing on your own. John Davis as the Chairman of Barking CLP has to, and must take the responsibility for what has been done. He has stood by and watched while the party that he continually states "must work together to fight the BNP", is torn apart.
We ask first, Why John?
Do you realize that there is not one member of the Labour Group we understand who has any respect left for you?
Why have you as Chairman of Barking CLP continually allowed the rules to be broken at the AGM?
Why have you as Chairman of Barking CLP continually allowed party members who are NOT delegates to either the GC or EC to continually vote on issues when a vote by delegates was required? This is despite you being told we understand on numerous occasions that these members were not entitled to vote.
Where has the Barking CLP money been spent?
Who authorised the expenditure?
Why did you not go through the Selection interview process the same as the rest of your colleagues?
Do you honestly believe, that, if you are lucky enough to get re elected next May, which is looking more doubtful as the days go by (perhaps you should have taken the offer of the seat in Thames Ward) that you will have any place of prominence in the new Council?
Or are you just allowing all of you "comrades" to be de selected in the vain hope that you will eventually get the prize of being Mayor, which all appear to be aware is your BNP supporting friends greatest desire?
Will you now stop bullying and threatening female members of the Labour Group who you mistakenly believe are writing this blog?
Is there is any chance at all of you doing the honourable thing and coming clean, exposing all of the corruption that has gone on and starting to rebuild fences within the Labour Group?
There is still time, but dont leave it too long.

We have decided to cover these candidates in 3 sections, our reasons why will become clear we hope to our readers.

QUESTIONS THAT MUST NOW BE ANSWERED BY DARREN RODWELL AND DOMINIC TWOMEY
The support and information that is now coming into us on a daily basis is mounting, so much so that we now feel that we will have to prioritse how we deal with the issues raised.
This one though has gone straight to the top of the pile, following on from the Formal Notice we were asked to post just a couple of days ago.
We have now seen correspondence sent out from Ray Collins the General Secretary of the Labour Party, not only to members of the party but to members of the public who have written to him drawing his attention to the corrupt practices they feel are going on in Barking.
In response Ray Collins has stated quite emphatically that the Barking & Dagenham Local Government committee collectively took the decision to run the selection process in the manner it is being done, that the Local Government committee took the decision to call in outsiders to sit as assesment panels and interview all candidates.
We have now spoken to numerous members of the Local Government committee, especially those who are members of the Executive of the same.
All of them have stated just as emphatically that at NO time was the Local Government committee or the exec part of any discussion or decision making process that agreed to the selections being run in this manner.
In fact many of them are furious because they have since discovered that within the rules of the party sitting Councillors should have been given a totally different form to complete to those wishing to go on the panel for the first time.
Also within the party rules there is NO requirement (other than if a sitting councillor has clearly fallen down on the job) that sitting councillors should be interviewed.
This we believe now provides very clear evidence that the whole selection process in Barking has been manipulated by the North Street mafia, not for what is best for the voters in Barking, but to fulfill the vengence of a bunch of petty minded individuals, and dare we even hint at the suggestion that these actions will ensure that more BNP councillors are elected in Barking, or at least their sympathizers?
And one other point that has been raised with us, during the Euro Elections we understand that a meeting took place at North Street where other high ranking Ministers attended. At the end of the meeting we have been told that Darren Rodwell stated to anyone who was listening that it was he in his position as Chair of the Local Government Committee who took the decision that the selections would be run in this way.
Well Mr Rodwell and Mr Twomey if the letters and the conversations we have had with LGC members are true you have overstepped your authority as Chair and Secretary, you did not have the right to make that decision without consulting with members first, check your party rules, you have lined yourselves up very nicely to face a vote of NO confidence which we are reliably informed will come.
We also understand that as yet you have made no response at all to the legitimate call for the AGM for Local Government Committee to be called.
You really do need to understand that you are answerable to the Membership, no one else, and the Membership are now demanding an answer.

PARSLOES WARD
As always this posting is the outcome of rumour, allegations, anecdote, observations and historical memory.
This ward is, as the North Street mafia know only too well a death trap for candidates, why do you think none of them would stand here? because they know that it is very likely that if Bert Collins does NOT stand then all 3 seats will be picked up by the BNP.
This is another ward that at the General Election will pass from Dagenham, where they have an MP who cares Jon Cruddas, over to Barking and Margaret Hodge, and North Street know they have a battle on their hands. Dagenham residents whether you move them to another constituency or not will not vote for Hodge. The grip of the BNP has tightened in this ward, they have a strong base of support, and Bert Collins is fighting a lone battle there with absolutely no support from North Street.
Bert Collins - A hardworking, quietly spoken man who is loyal to his party, but even more loyal to his friends, he knew what he was up against in 2006 and after the election night was over he worked long and hard to fight against the BNP in his ward. He is well known and respected by many of the residents, but will it be enough?
We really do not know what the up to date position is with Bert, but, we are aware that he stated several weeks ago that he would not stand again in Parsloes Ward and he made it quite clear that the reason he was not standing was because of the corrupt practices of the North Street mafia who lied and cheated to ensure that his friends were de selected.
Now Bert may very well change his mind, who can say? it may well be that residents in his ward have approached him to stand because they trust him and they have confidence in him, BUT, is this enough to encourage others to stand with him, on looking at the recent Euro election figures and last years GLA election figures we would say no!!! Bert may, and we hope he does, just get through, but in our opinion taking all the stats into consideration anyone who stands with him on a Labour ticket will be on a looser, and North Street knows it, that is why the dirty tricks had to be brought in so that they made sure they had the safe seats.
We apologise unreaservedly to Bert Collins for addressing this in such a manner, but, we are committed to being open with our readers.

A MUSLEM POINT OF VIEW
Overnight we have been in discussions with a number of muslem party members who are they tell us shamed by what has gone on in Abbey ward and Gascoigne ward, and that they wanted their voices to be heard. Mustaq Ahmed has agreed on their behalf for his name to go on this piece. As much as we can it is written in their own words and style, we have tried to be as respectful as we can be they have all seen this and agreed the content.
Many of us who live in Barking wish to live at peace with our neighbours. Many of us were brought here as children and have grown up and enjoyed the freedom that this great country offers and until now the friendship of peoples in Abbey and Gascoigne.
What many do not understand is why we left Pakistan, it was not only to make a better life for ourselves, but also important that we make a better life for our wives and daughters. We want our daughters and our wives to have the education and the freedoms from the very restrictions they would face in our homeland.
We also wanted to leave behind the very very corrupt and violent politics that happens in Pakistan. And for many years living in Barking we have enjoyed these freedoms. Our fears now are that the corrupt politics of pakistan have now come to Barking our homes. Our fears are that our friends and neighbours will turn against us because of this, we do not want this change.
We are happy with the councillors we voted for and who have worked hard for us to be accepted into the community. What will these imposters do we asks, that shameful woman Butt, that very nasty and dangerous man Aziz, yes he is and serious questions need to be asked about him. We know but because of our families we have to take great care.
Many of us who are party members who supported our councillors will not stay in a corrupt party this is not what we left Pakistan for.
We do all of us support the campaign you are running but you must see that we have to take care.

********NEWS FLASH***********
Unlike the RMT which was pretty easy to unravel, this one may take a little longer, but, because it does show the growing strength of support that is gathering we thought we would just pass on to our readers what we have so far.
It seems that there is growing strength and support from the FBU (Fire brigades Union) one of its leading union members lives we understand in Treswell Road, and we hear that he has threatened at times to stand as a Respect Party member in that ward, mainly because of his anger at the local party.
Well it seems someone has steered him in the direction of this blog, he is really on board with what we are trying to accomplish so he will be taking this back to his union with a recommendation that they give the same support as RMT.
While we welcome this news and hope that he is successful, perhaps we can provide him with a little known piece of info that will we think help him in his discussions. One of the trusted and supported councillors who has been de selected had very strong links with the FBU, in fact their father was FBU Chair for London Region for many years.

Dee Hunt - Following Dees 2 interviews and her finally getting through on appeal, many, many labour party members were seen scratching their heads in disbelief, others with words like "I dont believe it" others were just even more scornful of the corrupt practices of the North Street mafia.
Why? you may ask, then if you have to ask you dont know Dee Hunt, but lets enlighten you on a few issues, for a start the Chief Whip would have had to put a report in about her attendance at meetings, we believe over 3 years it came in at about 45 to 48% appalling really, but even more so when her non attendance was blamed on every one else but herself.
Dee has tried to keep a foot in each camp, the only problem is she only has 2 feet, her strongest support we have been told is her very good working relationship with the 2 BNP members in her ward.
Even going back to the 2006 local election there were very strong rumours that the BNP were campaigning on the doorstep not only for their own 2 candidates but for Dee as well.
She is totally disorganised, has learned very little about being a member of the labour party, but funnily enough has learned a lot about being the only member of the Dee Hunt party.
She will whine and she will moan that in the run up to the elections she is not getting any support or any help, but, that will in fact suit her fine, because betting money says she will get the very same support she got back in 2006, but perhaps this time the price to be paid may be too high even for Dee to accept.

Although the mafia states that the selections for this ward are to be completed, we all know that whoever they put up here apart from Dee Hunt (for the special reasons outlined below) will loose. So for the very first time in Barkings democratic history the mafia will be putting up paper candidates.
And why?, lets look at it logically, there were and are if the process were to be fairly re run, more than enough seats for newcomers, but the mafia which make up the bulk of the newcomers, the likes of Rodwell, Twomey Butt, Letchford and Aziz are basically lazy and cowardly little s......s. They know that if they had done the right thing and gone in the wards where the vacancies were and are, such as Mayesbrook, Parsloes etc they would have to work for them, they would have to fight the BNP, and lets face it for all of their shouting that they are the only ones who know how to fight the BNP, they have lied and they have cheated, they have corrupted the process, so that they could get the safe seats!!!!!! So their limited intelligence tells them they will get in on the backs of the hard work done by good and trusted councillors.
Well are they in for a very real shock, they are on shifting sands, the communities in the areas were they have lied to get selected to are rejecting them. Other loyal and long standing party members are turning their backs on them, even the local press is against them.
Their plan has not and will not work.

Many will of course already know of the very uneasy relationship between the RMT and the Labour Party and in fact the RMT is now disafilliated from the party.
We are given to understand that a previous Officer of Barking CLP who is also a very active member of the RMT, was at the time of his leaving Barking very concerned of the build up of corruption within the CLP and did the best he could to voice his concerns.
He has been following the wake of destruction being levelled on the party by the North Street mafia, and we understand has taken these matters to the highest level within the RMT.
Now whether you like him or loath him Bob Crowe is a principaled man, and not adverse to taking the big boys on. We are now given to understand that the RMT will back any of the de selected councillors if they choose to stand as Independents. This backing will we understand mean bodies out working on the streets and financial help if needed.
We have been told that RMT are appalled at how great the level of corruption has become in Barking CLP.
There has also been put forward the suggestion that if any of the North Street mafia are by some miracle found to be trade union members then pressure should and will be brought to bear to have their membership withdrawn.

Nirmal Gill has been around a long time and many of you will already know his strengths and his weakness, so we will move on.
Rocky Gill, a far more complex and different young man, ! a known hater of women, especially women in positions of authority we are told? supposedly loves to be on the winning side, so keeps a foot in both camps? very good at ingratiating himself, BUT well known for rubbing people up the wrong way, extremely ambitious, win at all costs, not a team player, but does like to play one team off against the other. ONE TO WATCH
Linda Rice - a number of descriptions we have been given appear to fit this young woman. Mad as a box of frog, bonkers, neurotic, hasnt got a clue, fixated on child abuse, unable to string a sentence together unless someone writes it down for her........well thats just a start. Allegedly she was a teacher in a primary school in the borough when she came up with some cock and bull story about rampant child abuse within the school, all because she had seen a little boy straightening his trousers after going to the toilet.
Her letters screaming abuse have we understand poured into the council and are still ongoing, she even had the stupidity to claim that the headteacher deliberately set fire to the school to cover up evidence!!!!!!

Nirmal Gill has been around a long time and many of you will already know his strengths and his weakness, so we will move on.
Rocky Gill, a far more complex and different young man, ! a known hater of women, especially women in positions of authority we are told? supposedly loves to be on the winning side, so keeps a foot in both camps? very good at ingratiating himself, BUT well known for rubbing people up the wrong way, extremely ambitious, win at all costs, not a team player, but does like to play one team off against the other. Linda Rice - a number of descriptions we have been given appear to fit this young woman. Mad as a box of frog, bonkers, neurotic, hasnt got a clue, fixated on child abuse, unable to string a sentence together unless someone writes it down for her........well thats just a start. Allegedly she was a teacher in a primary school in the borough when she came up with some cock and bull story about rampant child abuse within the school, all because she had seen a little boy straightening his trousers after going to the toilet.
Her letters screaming abuse have we understand poured into the council and are still ongoing, she even had the stupidity to claim that the headteacher deliberately set fire to the school to cover up evidence!!!!!!

We have been informed this evening that the RMT union are prepared to put its considerable resources behind any member who has been de selected and who chooses to stand as an Independent councillor in 2010.

As usual this posting is the subject of rumours, allegations, anecdotes, observation historical memory, but, for the very first time written admissions by the suject concerned, on this blog yesterday.
Following G Letchfords comments posted on here yesterday a very serious discussion took place amongs our group on what Letchfords admissions revealed, how much more information did we have and whether or not to donate a full page to Mr Letchford, as you can see the latter won.
We have not yet decided whether Mr Letchford is naieve, stupid or just bloated with the arrogance of his own treachery and the treachery of his partners in crime in North Street.
As you can clearly read in yesterdays comments Letchford claims he was not a member of the Labour party when he appeared in the BNP youtube film campaigning for Barnbrook in the run up to the 2006 local elections.........thats all right then isnt it?
As you can clearly read in yesterdays comments Letchford states that he banned all councillors from his TRA meetings, in the full knowledge that as a resident Barnbrook would be able to attend, which he did, and grandstanded at every meeting he managed to attend.
Mr Letchford please do no think we are as stupid as you are we have been getting feedback on the activities at your TRA meetings for months and months, you are a very foolish man if you believe that everyone there loves you.
Anyway we are further assured that if as a TRA you received funding from the council as a start up grant and a maintenance grant you had no authority to ban Councillors from your meetings.

And finally, for the moment, perhaps you would like to explain just what did happen about your house? you know the one you were due to be evicted from, until a very, very friendly benefactor stepped in, bought the house, but allowed you to remain there as tenant, bit odd that one, just who was the friendly benefactor Mr Letchford, was it the BNP (who of course will want you to stay in place and get elected, especially as you are so close and friendly) or did the North Street mafia have a whip round for you? Of course your partners in crime would really want to keep their friends close.

GORESBROOK WARD
As usual this posting is a matter of rumour, allegations, observations, anecdote, historical memory and in one instance even filmed evidence.
Pretty pathetic bunch this lot, in our opinion not even bothering to raise a serious challenge to the BNP which is criminal when you consider that this is Richard Barnbrooks ward, where you would have expected North Street to put in its strongest team, its most ambitious team, to knock him out, what a victory that would have been in the local elections, but no, it is almost as if they have accepted, or perhaps done a deal with the BNP to put up a very weak front.
Jim Clee - nice old boy, ok for putting leaflets through letter boxes but thats it.
Louise Couling - foul mouthed and pushy, will not even have the stamina to deliver leaflets to one road in the ward.
Graham Letchford - this is the man to watch, it is said that he is one of the very strong links into the BNP. Residents in the area report that he is regularly seen deep in conversation with Barnbrook at the shops in Gale Street.
We are reliably informed and at least one of us has seen a film on youtube that was made by the BNP back in 05/06 in the run up to the local elections where Letchford can be clearly seen walking the streets with Barnbrook.
Up until quite recently Letchford held the position of Chair of the local residents association, and although he is a member of the Labour party and should be very much aware of the partys policy of NO Platform where the BNP is concerned he continued to invite Barnbrook to the meetings, where we are told he allowed Barnbrook to take over and grandstand. Letchford it seems encouraged this, after being informed by the Labour Councillor for the ward that he would not share a platform with Barnbrook and would not attend the meetings. Letchford was then able to use this against the Labour Councillor, so much for comradeship.
But, it wasnt just at these meetings that Letchford took to criticising Labour Councillors, you only have to go back through local and national press clippings, this includes the BBC where Letchford in partnership with his "buddy" Rodwell appear to make a habit of condeming and criticising the work of a Labour council and its Labour councillors. Perhaps someone needs to draw Letchford and Rodwells attention to the Labour party rule book, we are pretty confident they have broken a number of those all ready.
Still Letchford needs to be watched, just which party will you get if you vote for him?

FINANCE
Just a few questions to pose to the North Street mafia.
Can you tell us how you propose to fund the elections next May?
Many members of the Barking party have told us that they have not seen a written financial statement from the "treasurer" for the past 2 AGMs. So members have no idea at all what money "they" have in "their" account. Please note NS mafia it is not your money it is party members money.
Members have told us they have no idea what their money is being spent on other than the fact that Laila Butt requests petty cash money on a regular basis (only because she is too bloody idle to go out and hand deliver the letters herself, which was always done in the past).

Several members who do keep files have gone back on previous treasurers reports and can find no reference at all to charges for 102 North Street, so who agreed it, when was it agreed, and how much is it all costing?
So bearing all of these questions in mind just how are you proposing to fund the Local Elections, we can hazard a guess that what ever funds you may have left in there after squandering members money on trivial matters, may just about fund the MPs election bid.
But there will we bet be little to nothing left for the local elections, and take it from us, dont even bother going cap in hand to the local unions, because you have so p.......d them off it is highly unlikely you will get a penny.
Dagenham will sweep up as far as the unions go, and other like minded organizations, but you lot your cupboard will be bare.

There is an important additional factor on this one as we have been advised by our legal people that as one of these candidates is under further investigation we will need to take greater care in how we handle his bio.
Saima Ashraf - very little known about this young woman other than she is a very orthodox muslem and works totally at the direction of Aziz, when in his company she does not speak unless he allows it and then only to add her support to him, she along with the female members of his family duly follow the practice of walking 10 paces behind him as per his instructions. But, when alone and in the company of women she shows herself to be very much like Laila Butt, arrogant, and very confident in her ability to promote her feminity to its best use.
As for Labour party politics and ethos forget it.

Aziz, - we will call him that for now, but early indications on the investigations that are ongoing is that this is not the name he was born with. He also claims to be a Doctor, once again there is absolutely no evidence at all to support this claim. He is neither like or trusted by the local muslems either those at the cultural society or at the Mosque.
When he first joined the party on his arrival in Barking he claimed to have come from Denmark where he had a large and thriving business. Funny then that on arriving here he goes straight onto benefits. And even funnier still, while on benefits he manages to buy his council property, still as we have said other people are looking at him in far greater detail than we ever could.
Within the party it is said that he even pestered and lobbied Hodge to nominate him to the House of Lords. We suppose that could come now, as he alleged to have said that he sees being a councillor as his reward.
Now as for what he says....this is very difficult as Aziz speaks very little english, he understands even less. He cannot read english (this has been seen by others when he has actually tried to pretend to read a document but it was upside down, and he cannot write english either.
We have now seen the branch reports that he and his son allegedly wrote on the sitting councillors for the selection panel, and we believe that they were not written either by Aziz or his son but they put their names to them so must accept the responsibility for the lies that are in there.

Twomey first stood for election back in 2006 on Mayesbrook Ward and the cracks in his personna first came to light there, he is not a team player, he would not work with the other 2 candidates, would not share the outcomes of his alleged canvassing. Well very little to say other than he didnt get elected that time round.
Because he is not a team player, he has obviously decided that the only way to win is by being a team leader, and he and his mate along with the support of Haywood now control the Barking CLP, poor old John Davis may think he is the Chair with the power of the chair, but, no he is their patsy, if the truth were told they find Davis an embarrassment and have said so on more than one occasion but for some reason feel the need to keep him there so as to legitimise what they are doing, of course Brown Envelope hasnt got a clue what they are really doing.
Twomey when you dig under the surface as we suggested is a bully, no more no less, an arrogant self opinionated bully. With no respect at all for the Labour Group as it stands now, and especially the previous Leader Charles Fairbrass. We have been made aware of the programme of bullying and intimidation that he tried to implement against the Labour Group through the Group Secretary, email after email Charles stepped in we understand on more than one occasion and Twomey just did not care how rude he was both to the Leader and the Secretary in the end we have been told legal advice was sought.
So we have an arrogant bully, but an arrogant bully with a very expensive habit we hear.

You knew that through hard work and committment these councillors had built up trust and loyalty of the residents in their wards.
So they had to go, you cherry picked who you needed to get on board in North Street and at some time in the not too distant future when we have all of the evidence we will name them.
But all we will say is this, be careful what you say in your own blogs, as your lies will be jumped on, take todays where you state that Val Rush has been censored by the Labour Group, we say prove it, as we know that the majority of the Labour Group totally support Val Rush, Fred Barns, Joan Rawlinson and all of the others who you have singled out.

EASTBURY WARD part 2 - and other little bits
As always, these are a matter of rumour, anecdote, allegations, observations and historical memory.
Elizabeth Kangethe - nice enough woman, lives in Parsloes Ward, maintained she only wanted to stand in Parsloes. Very big on working with children, other than that nothing, does not bode well.
Hardial Rai Singh - again nice enough man, put up a good show in the 2006 local elections and very nearly had the seat, puts the work in knocking on doors and leafletting etc. The only black mark against him is that after 2006 he went off the scene, but still is back now and wants to put the work in.
Chris Rice - this man was forced onto the Eastbury members at the selection interviews he was not shortlisted by the ward.
He is also we would suggest to be greatly pitied his wife Linda Rice who will be standing in Longbridge, we will come to her later, is absolutely bonkers, the worrying thing is he appears to be joining her.
He is on record the same as his wife in stating that the only reason he wants to be a councillor is that the borough has not got correct child protection procedures and he wants to make sure the borough does.
To be fair to him he does not go off into the tangent and totally off the wall statements about child abuse that his wife does, but it is very worrying that he appears to have caught his wifes bug.
Just a few snippets of info our whistleblower in North street has told us that Mike Haywood has summoned these 3 into his office twice in the last two weeks to talk over with them the strategy he is going to employ to make sure they get selected, never mind what the ward members want. Never mind the fact that Haywood is paid by the British tax payer and is forbidden to involve himself in the local party as he is doing. Chickens and roost come to mind.
The Ward members in Eastbury are adamant that they will select who works for them, and they really are up for the fight, the only problem now seems to be is the likes of Twomey and Rodwell are dragging their heels in setting up a new selection meeting.
Ward members have told us that Rodwell and Twomey better get their fingers out otherwise the Ward will just send out the invites themselves and host it themselves, following the rules all the way.

EASTBURY WARD part 1
This ward is to be congratualated, it is the rebel base, North Street have made no inroads at all in this ward, not for the want of trying though.
As is usual with all of our postings these are a matter of rumour, observations, allegations, anecdote and historical memory, BUT we are told with this one there is documented evidence that has been accepted by Ken Clark in part.
As usual North Street mafia have tried their corrupt methods in an attempt to gain control of the ward before its AGM in March, this process started we understand in the latter part of last year, when one of the mafia a Mr Riaz claimed he was living in the ward, very stupid man this, didnt realise that the address he was claiming to live at was apart from a small road in between right next door to the ward secretary.
Still on they pushed, Mr Riaz, sometimes accompanied by Laila Butt and Mr Aziz then started visiting BME members in the ward, claiming quite wrongly that the white members in the ward would not allow BME members to stand as councillors.
Mr Riaz even went so far as to commit fraud on a number of genuine white members in the ward by getting them to sign, what he said was his petition to stand in the ward, but what actually turned out to be false letters of complaint stating that members had not been notified of the AGM.
The ward took the decision to make a formal complaint to the General Secretary, letters and evidence of Riaz and others corrupt practices were sent in. We understand that Mr Riaz was very quickly moved out of Eastbury ward membership list, and funny enough he cannot be found on any membership list in Barking now, but it did not end there.
Very stupidly Mr Riaz gave the game away himself in a phone call to one of the members, the transcript of which we have now seen. It appears that so boastful and proud of what he and the others had done Mr Riaz actually thought he was safe enough to thank this member for helping him get rid of Val Rush.
Eastbury ward members were inflamed when this was reported to their next meeting by the Chair, and as they had been instructed that they had to re run their AGM in Rob Chapmans presence, Chapman spent a very uncomfortable evening we are told, with members telling him just what they thought.
And they re elected the same officers as before. This will not have pleased North Street, the membership in Eastbury are standing shoulder and shoulder together and were prepared for the fight.
So we come to the Selection Interviews, because of the interference of the Local Government Committee these had to be held in Dagenham, Eastbury could only get 6 members there on a Saturday afternoon. So of course they were overwhelmed by the Executive of Barking CLP who had their list and outed the 3 candidates that the ward wanted and put in their own, but they have come unstuck this time.
Barking clp tried to put 2 people on the Exec who had no right to be there, Eastbury ward objected and now the selection has to be re run. A minor victory for the rebels yes, but a clear indication that corruption can and should be challenged, and can be beaten.

Becontree Ward
Time to do a bit of catching up, there has been so much interest in this blog and information is pouring in that we are getting behind on the potted bios. Before we start can we say thank you to all who have passed info onto us, we are sure that you will understand that any info is treated in the strictest of confidence, but sometimes we do have to independently check it out, especially a piece that has been sent in that is of such a serious criminal nature, we do promise to use it, but we must check it out first.

James Ogunbose, nothing known other than he is a bus driver, once again this should be ringing alarm bells within the party, if he has been involved and working for the party and building up relationships then more should be known about him.
Robert Douglas, a user and a traitor to his friends, ask Alok Agrawal who encouraged Robert to get involved and supported him as well, then at the first chance he gets Robert puts the knife in. Native cunning he may have, is he up to the job very doubtful.
Evelyn Carpenter otherwise known as Evilyn, or Princess pushy
Not a woman well liked within the labour group or the council we hear. Its seems her reputation proceeded her as she used to work in the councils education dept until they called her in and asked her to leave.
At the very first labour group annual general meeting on being elected she put herself forward for the councils executive and was mortally offended when she did not get the post. She claims to be a team player, but, this is totally untrue the only part of a team that Evelyn wants to be is the leader.
She is a walking HAZARD it wasnt long before she was in big trouble and ended up facing a very serious disciplinary hearing within the Labour Group which she was found guilty by, still to this day she does not and will not accept the discipline of being a member of the group. She sees herself as being above it all.
This year in the run up to the group AGM she finally thought she was on a promise, she honestly believed she would get a place on the Executive, she set about breaking unwritten rules within the group by sending cards and letters to group members lobbying them. Group members were furious at this approach, consequently she did not achieve her goal, we are told that on the night her face was as black as thunder, she threw all of her toys out of the pram resigning from things left right and centre. But, we hear the most interesting event took place at the end of the meeting when she cornered the newly elected leader and let him have it with both barrels.
Since then she appears to have changed tack, and is we here popping up all over the place, visiting groups across the borough making herself well known to them and lobbying hard, word is that she is now on a promise from North street and she seems to believe the promise, as she is telling the groups she is visiting that come next May she will be the Deputy Leader of the council.
A nice dream that one, but being a rabid feminist as she is, Evelyn firmly believes that she as a woman should have the job, or any job just because she is a woman, for her it is not a case of if she is actually able to do the job.

Mass Demonstration
Firstly can we apologize we have had a slight technical hitch this morning.
This news would/should have been brought to you earlier.
At 12 noon today outside 102 North Street the traffic was brought to a standstill when there was a mass demonstration and protest led by the GMB union and residents against the interference by the North Street Mafia in the Barking selection process.
We understand that there were a number of journalists present and photographers, on questioning the union members and residents they were there to show their support for Fred Barns and Val Rush, the unions and residents are quite rightly very angry on how these members are being treated. They also stated that this was only the start of their protests.
We do hope to get some photos on line later today.

Alibon Ward Candidates
As always these are either rumour, allegations, observations, anecdote or historical memory.
We believe it only fair to Leave John Davis to a spot on his own which we have no doubt we will keep coming back to.
Sanchia Alasia very little is know about this young lady, and that in itself should speak volumes to true party members, what little we have discovered is that she spends a great deal of time bombarding MPs up and down the country with demands that they put forward her pet projects as Early Day Motions.
Darren Rodwell, we may well find that as we have done with John Mr Rodwell may very well end up with a black page all of his own.
Mr Rodwell we are told is one of the prime movers in the North Street Mafia. For some years now he has used his position as Chair of Reede Road tenants association as his own political arena, please note that we use the phrase, "his own political arena" Rodwell may have joined the Labour Party but he is not a Labour man, he is very much a Rodwell man, its all about me me me.
And this is evidenced we are told by his crafty use of so called charitable works, charitable because in the end if you dig deep enough you will find that Rodwell and his own company benefitted financially all the way along the line. His time given up to "support the Mayor", to support the "Town Show", to support "Pondfield park" funny how his company always benefitted financially.
He is also we understand on very close speaking terms with Bailey and other members of the BNP, and by close we do mean very close. It is reported that some little while back during an election when the BNP were driving round the borough with a large political advert on their vehicle, they were also running an advert for Rodwells company.
It has also been said at very senior levels that Rodwell was the man favoured by Hodge to be the next leader of the council. She had already secured him a position of Non Executive Director on the board of the PCT which is a paid post, (but we do understand that this may be the subject of investigation now, and we can say no more than that as it is sub judice), but Hodges plan has fallen through, because it had become obvious that Rodwell is unable to read, so he has been ditched from that plan. But she keeps him close because he plays dirty, and not afraid to lie and cheat to get what he wants.
There is plenty of evidence out there for the Labour party to see that would cause them to drop him like a hot brick, both in local news and national where he constantly criticises and castigates the majority Labour group of the council. And if Rodwell had had any sense he should he read up on the party rules where this is concerned........but sorry we forgot apparantly he cannot read.

John (Brown envelope) Davis part 3
Thank you to our readers for providing a couple of corrections and even further info on John.

Our first correction is that the freebie West Ham season tickets were supplied to Jack Thomas and John Davis by the fairground proprietor. The value of these runs into some hundreds of pounds.
We are told that every year when the annual rent for the fairgrounds in the parks had to be decided the Leisure Committee used to leave it to the Chairman to deal with, you can take what you want from that, but, note that the annual sum paid by the fairground proprietor even after all these years is negligible, it seems that the Chair and J Davis really tied the hands of the council on this one.
The little bit of further info on John Davis and the Councils Head of Security Joe Lacey that we have managed to unpick so far is that even though Lacey worked for the council as HoSecurity he also owned his own Security Firm which he set up while employed by the council, it appears that when the council needed additional security, or their own staff were off sick Lacey used to provide the staff to cover from his own company. Security was over seen by the General Purposes committee which John Davis chaired, it is understood that John had many good holidays with Lacey at his villa in Spain, and this may very well still be going on.

We are reliably informed that some years ago an Indian Takeaway resturant applied for planning permission on the Thames View estate. G Shaw stated that hell would freeze over before he would have one of those on the view.
He attended the planning meeting and vigerously opposed the application, stating that nobody wanted it over there.
The Planning Committee took a far more tolerant view and agreed the application on the basis that if nobody wants it then it will soon go out of business.
Its still there today we believe, much to G Shaw annoyance.

John (Brown envelope) Davis part 2
Well we knew the complaints would start coming in eventually, but, we were not ready for the castigation and the very angry emails that have been posted as comments. For the first time since this blog started we have had to withold comments. Not because they disagree with what we are saying, because we are a very democratic bunch and would enjoy the cut and thrust of debate, no, we had to withold them because they were so critical of the fact that we had left so much of John Davis dodgy dealings out.
If we had allowed the comments as they were without our normal preface we and the posters could very well have ended up in court.
So while we do appreciate and welcome your comments and your memories please please bear in mind how we preface our postings.

We have been told that some years ago when Jack Thomas (may he rest in peace) was Chair of Leisure and John was either his Vice Chair or may very well by then have been Chair of GP, Jack and John negotiated themselves a verrrry sweet deal with West Ham Utd. Season tickets no less, off they would trot to Upton Park to be wined and dined and watch the match. Now some us are not great football supporters so would have no idea of the monetary value to put on this kind of gift, but you can bet your budgies life it did not get entered in the Hospitality book, or the Register of interests.
When George Shaw (Mr Obnoxious) was Chair of Housing there used to be a list of Council preferred builders, the purpose of which was that any resident who had to have building works done on their property more often or not paid for with a Grant from the council (dont forget J Davis was chair of grants) usually for a residents with disabilities to make adaptions etc, the resident could phone housing and ask for a copy of the List of preferred builders, the builders on this list were allegedly required to meet the councils standards.
Top of this list was a company by the name of Becontree Builders, and guess who their very good friends were, yes, J Davis mainly, but on a limited job now and then G Shaw. So friendly did our John get with Becontree Builders, and so grateful were they for they work they got via the council that it is alleged that they went into Johns house and did a major refurb without giving him one bill at all.
But like everything else s...t always floats to the top, senior officers got wind of this tidy bit of corrupt practices and Becontree Builders were very quickly removed from the preferred list, even though we are told John still tried to argue their case in committee, very loyal is our John.
This next one is the one that really had him running for cover, and still to this day the full facts, in deed very little fact has leaked out about this, but we are pretty sure anyone in the British Legion on a Thursday afternoon, who wants to pay out a few quid so John can glug some booze may come out with part of the story. Just ask him about Joe Lacey, who used to be Head of the Councils security, ask him about Joe Laceys villa in Spain that John loved having the use of because it was right on a golf course......dare you ask the questions let us know what the poor old man mumbles.

You could ask we suppose that if just 50% of the allegations, rumours or anecdotes are true, why doesnt John do the honest thing for once and stand for the BNP, because even he must have the wit to see that will get no where with Labour now, he really is just a sad, sad man.

We have been told that some years ago when Jack Thomas (may he rest in peace) was Chair of Leisure and John was either his Vice Chair or may very well by then have been Chair of GP, Jack and John negotiated themselves a verrrry sweet deal with West Ham Utd. Season tickets no less, off they would trot to Upton Park to be wined and dined and watch the match. Now some us are not great football supporters so would have no idea of the monetary value to put on this kind of gift, but you can bet your budgies life it did not get entered in the Hospitality book, or the Register of interests.
When George Shaw (Mr Obnoxious) was Chair of Housing there used to be a list of Council preferred builders, the purpose of which was that any resident who had to have building works done on their property more often or not paid for with a Grant from the council (dont forget J Davis was chair of grants) usually for a residents with disabilities to make adaptions etc, the resident could phone housing and ask for a copy of the List of preferred builders, the builders on this list were allegedly required to meet the councils standards.
Top of this list was a company by the name of Becontree Builders, and guess who their very good friends were, yes, J Davis mainly, but on a limited job now and then G Shaw. So friendly did our John get with Becontree Builders, and so grateful were they for they work they got via the council that it is alleged that they went into Johns house and did a major refurb without giving him one bill at all.
But like everything else s...t always floats to the top, senior officers got wind of this tidy bit of corrupt practices and Becontree Builders were very quickly removed from the preferred list, even though we are told John still tried to argue their case in committee, very loyal is our John.
This next one is the one that really had him running for cover, and still to this day the full facts, in deed very little fact has leaked out about this, but we are pretty sure anyone in the British Legion on a Thursday afternoon, who wants to pay out a few quid so John can glug some booze may come out with part of the story. Just ask him about Joe Lacey, who used to be Head of the Councils security, ask him about Joe Laceys villa in Spain that John loved having the use of because it was right on a golf course......dare you ask the questions let us know what the poor old man mumbles.

Abbey Ward Potted Bios
We are of course only going to concentrate on the Barking candidates, there has been some heated discussions as to who is going to write about whom, but, we have now come to a fair compromise, if, there is something good to say we will say it, but, of course that goes for the negative too.
As always these writings are the outcome of rumour, conjecture, allegations, observations and historical memories.
OK lets kick off with the first on the list: Laila Butt,
we could just leave it at that, because what this woman knows about the Labour Party and its policies is a big fat zero.
But, history is littered with women who while having no brain manage to secure a position usually from the prone position, and we are led to believe that in Butts case this is a strong posibility. Observations have taken place when the men are about and some say she is very good at what she does. The only problem we have is that the silly little woman believes that she has the brain and the knowledge to be Barkings answer to Benazir Bhutto. She is totally convinced that this is just a stepping stone to MP of Barking, as usual the men around her tend to think with their trousers instead of their brains. We also understand that her family is entrenched in the wrong kind of politics in Pakistan, so perhaps they believe the seat can be bought.
She is on record as saying that she will not attack the BNP in the council chamber, instead she is going to bond with them and get them to like her.
Hell what a manifesto.
Manzoor Hussain, not an awful lot known about this one other than he may be a teacher, deeply involved in the Muslim Cultural Society, who also along with the next candidate believes that the council and therefore the council tax payers in Barking should just spend money on providing them with what ever facilities they want.
Tariq Saeed, better known as "gissa job" since leaving his employment with Macdonalds Tariq has tried without success to strong arm his way in to a number of jobs within the council, none of which he was qualified to do, but, wrongly perceiving that being a member of the Labour Party in the borough this would give him a shoe in.
Totally dominated by the females in his family, and now totally dominated by L Butt, in fact her threat to him prior to the ward selections was you either do as I say or my family will not vote for you. And in fact when the votes were counted Tariq got the lowest of all.
He believes himself to be a wheeler dealer kind of person, but, the Butts are in it now, and they play hard ball politics.
Up until now Abbey ward was one of the safest seats in Barking, but, not anymore. The white and other BME groups living in the ward have been totally ignored and disregarded.
There is we understand a belief that the Muslem vote will bring them through, that is not a sure thing, so we were not surprised to hear that there may be a back up plan, typical Pakistani politics this one, L Butt has a big family and lots of contacts, do not be surprised over the next few months if the electoral roll in Abbey grows like topsy, and do not be surprised in the postal ballot applications increase along side of it.

A couple of important issues for your attention
Before we progress on to the potted bios of the new candidates we have been asked to make the next couple of statements.
Mr Ray Collins General Secretary of the Labour Party, will you please answer why you have failed to respond to the many letters and emails that have been sent to you about the selection process in Barking by members of many years standing within the party.
These members have taken great care to outline to you the fraud and corruption that has been ongoing during this process going right back to the begining where we understand that you have been mis-lead into thinking that the Local Government Committee took the decision to run the selections in this manner. You have been advised we understand and quite rightly that this did not happen.
So Mr Collins we as party members and therefore the people who pay your wages, and the people who expect you to stand for fairness and justice within our party demand an answer.
Secondly, we have been asked to note that John (brown envelope) Davis has written a letter to the Dagenham Post, where he claims among other things, that he was interviewed by a panel of 4/5 people when going through the initial selection panel meeting.
We have also been very reliably informed that the selection for panel interviews on the day J Davis should have attended comprised of 2 people.
So on the strength of our information do we conclude that the earlier, rumour, allegation and observation which stated that John Davis was not interviewed in the same manner as all other sitting councillors, and in fact did just sit down for a chat with R Chapman.
We dont suppose for one minute that John will enter into a dialogue on this blog or will he?

John Davis...or Johnny....or BROWN ENVELOPE
This posting is the outcome of rumours, observations, anecdotes, allegations and historical memory.
Well what can we possibly say about John that has not been said many times before, he is a poor pathetic sad old man whose brain must now resemble a plate of scrambled eggs.
His reputation is of course well known, not only within the council and the labour party, but the trade union and Fords and employees of that company especially.
That is where John first came by the name Brown envelope Davis. As he was oftern heard to be saying everything has its price and as long as its a good price and put in a brown envelope with my name on it, well there you go.
And it seems that John did not change his way of working (although there are some who will tell you the man never did a days work in his life) when he became a councillor.
He very quickly it seems got himself on the inside track, and was for many years the chairman of General Purposes committee. Very powerfull committee this one, far reaching, fingers in every pie across the council especially the Grants committe under it.
It is we hear a well known story that John would hold court and council meetings every Friday in the Matapan pub, where senior officers were told they had to attend and to bring their wallets with them.
There is also the stories of John and others of the old guard going to conferences and hiring out blue movies in the evenings.
Well as with George once Charles Fairbrass and his modenisers were in this all stopped, officers we are told were greatly relieved, John was and is (when he can remember) furious. He hates Charlie with a passion believing, stupidly that he was the natural successor to George Brooker, thank heavens that dream never came true.
But still John believes he is a power to be reckoned with, that is why he thought he would be a good chair for Barking CLP, but of course all he has ended up being is a patsy, a figurehead, and an embarrassing one at that.
When the first lot of interviews came round to get onto the local government panel, the mafia knew he would never get through the interview process, so all he had was a friendly chat with Rob Chapman from London Region.
But the mafia still need him at the moment, but not for much longer, he is making too many mistakes, being seen walking across the Town Hall square with his arm around one of the female members of the BNP has not helped. His usefullness to them is now coming to an end and they will ditch him, so he will end up alone, he has made far to many enemies within the labour group, he has no power at all now stripped of all his chairmanships.
He is just a sad, lonely pathetic old man, who has not seen a nice brown envelope for years.

Many of us over the years have enjoyed visits to the Thames City Farm, our children loved it, the residents of the area were proud of it and it served a fantastic community need, well it did until George got upset, and when George gets upset he gets poisionous as many know to their cost.
History tells us that his first attack on the management of the Farm was when Wendy Bomberg was running it, we have no idea what she did to cross George but his knives were out and he made damn sure that in very quick time she was out of the way.
After a little time of George holding the farm together as they say, or as he used to say new management were brought in, George still remained on the management committee, but still things seemed to be going smoothly, with the new manager remembering to tug her forelock every time George spoke. After some time though as with everything else people start to come out from under the shadow of George and start to be their own person (much the same way Fred Barns has), well that was it George then went on destruct mode, he meddeled, he demanded, he spoke to external funders, in fact total destruction followed, Thames now no longer has a farm for all to enjoy, no longer can the children of the borough, some of whom do not even know what a cow looks like in real life, make their excited and enjoyable vists, all down to George that one, but of course George will tell you a different tale.

Harry Day we are told had very strong links with our borough, and may very well have been employed by the council at some time, he also we understand forged strong links with the old guard councillors.
Harry Day then moved to Norfolk and started the Young Citizens Guild, again with strong links into the borough, our children used to go down their for days, or weeks, canoeing and outdoor activities.
So strong was the relationship Harry Day had with the old guard councillors, George Shaw was President of the Young Citizens Guild, and we have discovered that at least once a year 3/4 of the old guard used to book the Mayors limosine to drive them down to Norfolk.
Of course this all changed once Charles Fairbrass became Leader of the council, we understand he was outraged on hearing about this and put a stop to it straight away, this was only one of the so called "spanish customs" that Charlie and his modernisers started to put an end to. And perhaps George seeing the writing on the wall decided that it was time to retire.

G Shaw to be contd
Sorry a bit of a delay in finishing this one off, as you can imagine Brother Shaws time has been very involved and convoluted.
One strand that came in late this afternoon has sent members of our group searching for info in Norfolk, what they will come back with I dont know, but as soon as we know you will know.

Once again we would remind readers and those wanting to post comments, that what is written here is the subject of rumour, allegations, conjecture, observations and in this case historical comment.
Where do we start with G Shaw, many will remember him as the councils Chair of Housing, there used to be a long standing joke on the council that you needed a passport to visit Thames View, well that joke is not so funny if you go digging as people do. It has long been believed that G Shaw would vet any new tenants moving into empty properties on the View, if your skin was of a different colour or he just did not like the look of you you never got housed over there.
Under the old council attendance allowance payments to councillors G Shaw was one of the highest earners on the council, he would turn everything into a meeting and then claim for it, even a 10 minute discussion with another councillor would in his book be claimable.
When the new council system came in George was not happy, although he was on the Executive they had prised his hands away from housing, there was just a flat basic allowance, and to be honest he was given a real no nothing portfolio, certainly one where he could do no damage. So GS decided to retire, an awful lot of people clapped their hands in joy.
But of course once he was out of office things started to come out into the open, things he was no longer in a position to cover up (but we will go into these at a later date).
So we come closer up to date, but just a reminder of G Shaw and his racist views, several years ago there was a labour party meeting held at the town hall, there was a guest speaker P Woolas, G Shaw really showed himself for what he was at that meeting, even M Hodge criticised him for his words, but now, he is her henchman.
Why doesnt he want Fred Barns on Thames anymore, answer Fred will not take his orders and directions from George, Fred is his own man, the same with Joan Rawlinson over on Scrattons George cannot control her, so she has to go.
But he still has the creepy ex teacher Barry Poulton to do his bidding.
As was said in the previous posting Mike Haywood needed G Shaw, and G Shaw saw this as a perfect opportunity to have his revenege on the council, on the council he believes betrayed him, who now do nothing right, and who he chooses to lambast at every public meeting he can.
Perhaps this could be because the cultural make up of Thames View has changed over the last few years, well certainly since G Shaws hands were prised of of housing.

Mike Haywood
And so we move on, but just to remind you that this posting as is the previous based on rumour, observations, allegations and conjecture.
Well what do we know about Haywood, well while M Hodges hands may be technically clean Haywood is Hodges Lady Macbeth. He has been described in so many ways, he is the carpet that MH walks on, he is her handbag carrier, but, the most important one of all is that he is her hit man.
On a personal level he goes for older women, his own partner we have found out is a senior civil servant in the fees office, it appears that when a number of journalists from national newspapers found out about this they have pounced on it and the investigations are ongoing, could be they are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5 or it could be just a coincidence.
Anyway Haywood does not like to share MH with anybody, that is why a couple of years ago he lied and conspired to get Jeanne Alexander sacked from her position as MH constituency secretary. But after doing that Haywood realised that he had made too many enemies within Barking party, and they could very well do for him, so what does he contrive to do, change the management committee of the party, now he could not do this on his own, he had to bring on board a figure head, but it had to be someone as poisonous as himself, someone who well past their sell by date but still wanted to be a power and a king maker, so he brought in George Shaw (more detail on him to follow).
The pair then set about taking over the party, its amazing how many party meetings are now held in North Street, all illegally as far as Westminster rules are concerned, but Haywood had to have them there, no correspondence goes out to the wards from the Barking Party unless he writes it, he has engineered the AGMs for several years now, even bringing in students and young people who work in North street to pretend that they are delegates from this or that organisation.
He engineered the LGC AGM and was seen sitting outside taking phone calls from those inside so he could monitor what was going on. For goodness sake this man is paid for by the British tax payer he should not under the rules of parliament be doing any of this, but, he is, why? because he is devious and deadly, someone once described him as the true Uriah Heep.
But the storm clouds are growing around Haywood, there is too much evidence now, evidence that can be traced back to him, and the various groups across Barking who are totally committed to supporting their councillors are prepared to use it. Little does Haywood know he even has a whistleblower in his own little office, they are so sickened by what they are seeing and hearing, they hate the fact that Haywood has no respect for the people of our borough, he openly calls us the most offensive names, the most printable of which is "morons".
As was said at the begining, this is all rumour, observations, allegations and conjecture, but, the case is coming together.

On a personal level he goes for older women, his own partner we have found out is a senior civil servant in the fees office, it appears that when a number of journalists from national newspapers found out about this they have pounced on it and the investigations are ongoing, could be they are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5 or it could be just a coincidence.

Potted bios.
Good morning all,
thought it might be a good idea to set out a potted bio of who or what we are up against.
Now of course we have to accept that a lot of this will be rumour and allegation, but, enough of us have been around for a long time so we know how much weight can be put to the allegations.
It would be greatly appreciated, that where you feel you can add too, or possibly totally disprove any thing said in the bios we will of course make the necessary adjustments.
Lets start at the top M Hodge, back in 1994 the fight was on, Barking had lost its best constituency MP ever Jo Richardson. We were viewed as the safest seat in London, and Hodge did everything she could do up town to make sure she would be selected (we are told)
The fight in Barking was bloody and awful, she and her supporters did not care one little bit about how they fought, they were just out to win, it was dirty and nasty and a lot of really good people got hurt and hurt badly.
Its the nature of politics I suppose that those people who supported and worked for her then were convinced that as a well known name etc she would lift the name of the borough and bring it out of the darkness. Funnily enough now those same supporters who fought hard and dirty for her will readily admit that they were wrong, they hold their hands up and apologize and in fact the only one left still hanging on to her coat tails is George Shaw but more of him later.
In the intervening years all we can say is that yes M Hodge did start to raise the profile of the borough, and yes Barking was often mentioned in the house. BUT
While doing this she was also raising her own profile climbing the slippery ministerial pole and once she got there the mentions of Barking were over.
So what has brought us to where we are today, in 2005 during the General election campaign M Hodge was regularly heard to say to councillors I will be all right but you lot have had it. Then 2006 local elections what happens M Hodge opens her mouth to the press and we end up with 12 BNP councillors.
Things have obviously changed a lot for M Hodge since 2006 she is no longer a minister for a start, there are 2 stories going the rounds on this, firstly that she went to Gordon Brown and asked for compassionate leave because of Henry, who we all had great affection for and he is a sad loss. Secondly that Gordon Brown sacked her.
Whichever story is true she knows she is now stuck on the back bench and will never ever be a minister again, and power is like a drug for her she cannot and will not live without it, so she has decided that she will now run Barking & Dagenham council through her puppets, her trolls.
The only sure fine way she can get that to happen is to get rid of the strong, hard working and trusted councillors, who would fight her and stop her getting what she wants.

Thank you, but there is really no need for the thanks or the congratulations, which are much appreciated.
We need to use this tool and use it well, we need to get the message out about the link to all our members, but, more importantly all those who are not members but share our concerns and principals.
This will soon grow, it will be an unstoppable voice and more importantly one they cannot ignore.

Well you could say Ive taken the bull by the horns, and I may very well have trod on some peoples toes, but what the heck!!!!!
There is a saying that goes something like "Bad men win if one good man keeps quiet". Well I dont know about you but all this pussy footing around with the North Street Mafia has made my old blood boil.
The Tribune site has really given ordinary good members of Barking Labour Party the chance to have their say about the treachery, and corruption that has gained the upper hand in Barking, at the moment, and has led to numerous good, hard working and trusted Councillors to be de-selected.
Well I dont think we can sit back anymore and let this carry on, I think we now have to start the fight back.
We cannot know how much longer Tribune will cover the story for, to be honest I am amazed they have let it run as long as they have, and the posts are not stopping, but, I have put together this blog, so that when Tribune do either move the article or take it off altogether there is another medium for all the good men and women in the local party, and of course the residents who are not members but care greatly about where they live and who support their councillors, will have somewhere to continue the conversation, to share information on how the protests are ongoing, and more importantly to Fight back and win.
