Looks like the honeymoon period at the council is over.
We have been informed that one of the junior councillors has started a very nasty campaign against a very Senior member.
The junior councillor has been identified as representing Alibon ward.
The subject of the campaign is that the junior member is spreading it around that the Senior member is guilty of "gerrymandering" during the run up to the elections in May.
The he is claiming that the Senior member made sure that works, such as roads, street cleansing and real detailed clean ups were concentrated in wards that the Senior member had close colleagues in. The junior member states that no such works were done in his ward, and in fact where officers were intending to go in and do works they were routed to another area.
Now just a word of advice for this junior member, "just bear in mind that this Senior Councillor has been around for a long time. He also has very good working relationships with a close group of journalists"
So if you are going to be so stupid as to spread lies such as this, just be careful who you talk to because the Senior Councillor referred to sees all and hears all.
It always was going to be a lousy marriage between Dagenham members and that lot in Barking.
ReplyDeleteThey are not even turning up for meetings, and only do as directed by North street.
The stupid prat in Alibon wont win this one or any other battle he tries, just not smart enough.
Dagenham member
I agree with the Dagenham member, but as quite a few Barking members will know to their cost he is a sneaky little bastard who will smile while he is shaking your hand, and stabbing you in the back with the other one.
ReplyDeleteThen he has learned his lessons from Hodge.
Barking member
all quiet on the western front
ReplyDeleteWell not to quiet we hear, it seems that this Junior councillor has now taken to having breakfast meetings with a selected number of officers, of course the officers are paying for the breakfast. It seems this Junior councillor is looking to bring officers over to his side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteAnd we hear he is not the only one putting himself about a bit, a certain junior female councillor recently elected in Abbey ward is trying to engage the unions, with at the moment little success but who knows.

ReplyDeleteAllegations of Corruption within Barking and Dagenham Council
Posted on01 September 2010 by Victoria. Tags: barking and dagenham council, Corruption, Darren Rodwell, fraud
Much like the Nazis of the Second World War era who installed themselves at every level of public office to control people’s lives and enrich themselves the Labour Party in Barking and Dagenham are now seeking to infiltrate and control every corporate and public body in the borough. As there is no official opposition and with a local press very much in its pocket allegations of political corruption are criminality are on the increase.
One example of this high level corruption can be illustrated by the way Labour party members have taken control over previously Independent Tenants and Residents Associations. These TRAs have access to grants of tens of thousands of pounds of council and government money and can apply for lottery funding. These associations often unaccountable and opaque can be used to do fake deals and give back handers much in the same way as holding companies in the Caribbean are regularly used by dodgy politicians and businessmen. Open to abuse and corruption TRAs are now allegedly diverting money away from schemes or projects which benefit local people for enrichment of Labour party members and their associates. Darren Rodwell, a failed businessmen and now a councillor in Alibon Ward, is one such case where the system falls over. He took control of the TRA in Alibon Ward and has used money given to him by residents to finance activities that have benefited himself and a small segment of the Labour voting community. Darren is no stranger to enriching himself by acquiring titles and getting on the gravy train. He has in the past benefited from funding given from the United Against Fascism group a quasi terrorist organisation involved in street level violence and criminality. Rodwell is also employed by DABD UK another organisation which gets money from government sources. It has also recently been announced that Rodwell has become a Non executive director of Barking and Dagenham NHS. Not bad for a failed businessman. Most sitting Labour Councillors on Barking and Dagenham Council have no other declared sources of income apart from their councillors pay and claimed expenses. This includes Liam Smith the Council leader. These leaves Labour Councillors wide open to allegations that they are funding and enriching themselves and their families from the public purse.
As we know Blair and Brown both former leaders of the Labour party have been enmeshed in scandals where they have been accused of taking money from dodgy foreign businessmen and diverting public funds to fund the Labour party.
If you know of any corruption taking place in Barking and Dagenham please ring
whispers whispers everywhere, the all seeing all hearing one dosent hear my whispers. He must be slipping
ReplyDeleteWhat is this junior and senior members nonsense?
There are a number of very senior members who have limited experience of the role because they have never done anything other than pick up their allowances.
The likes of rush, barnes, hemmett and kaller were useless in the latter years of their terms.
There are still about 6 "senior" members who do very little! In fact 2 got promoted on the back of being rubbish..........
with senior judgement like that who needs incompetence..........
Our apologies for printing the above, we were not aware at the time that this came from a BNP site, but it seems that this particular junior councillor is certainly making a name for himself, allbeit a name that could tarnish those very honest and trustworth Labour Councillors in Narking & Dagenham.
ReplyDeleteWell we did say the honeymoon was over........and if you anon.@6.14 dont know the difference between a junior and senior member you really do need to catch up.
ReplyDeleteVictoria can i ring please because i have been told that there is high level corruption within "senior" members of the labour group and longstanding senior officers. I can give you names and dates even though they are trying to cover their tracks, possibly as i type....
ReplyDeleteit seems the barking clp has announced support for david milliband in the labour party leadership challenge. margaret hodge has told everyone that she has known him for twenty years and we should all vote for him. and there's me thinking this vote is private. well, my two votes will not be going where hodge wants them to go, but where i want them to go.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with anon@ 1235, I will be voting for who I think will do the best job, only problem is Hodge has told Milliband Barking is totally behind him, and she will make sure her sheep vote how she wants.
ReplyDeletebarking member
Seems there is a lot going on now within the CLP where, secret votes have gone by the board. If anyone doesn't totally, and without reservation, agree with Mrs Hodge, it appears they are castigated. Gone now is the view that some votes are secret. May just as well have no councillors, or elected representatives of the people, just Mrs Hodge, Mr Rodwell and his obedient servants.
ReplyDeleteI agree with anon 13:52. Maybe the time has come for all good people of Barking to join the Labour Party en masse, and vote out these self centered, power hungry, selfish, self serving "bastards" and that would certainly, spoke their wheels, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteWho does Hodge want to succeed her, do you know?
I understand Hodge is playing the long list, meanwhile stringing along several members at the CLP, of course Rodwell believes he is next in line, but then so does Laila Butt.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe they just follow along behind her, do they not know that the CLP is supposed to have the whip hand and not the MP
